My background

I received my bachelor’s degrees in psychology and family science from the University of Maryland and my master’s in marriage and family therapy from University of Rochester. My education has taught me that helping someone means looking at the bigger picture in their lives, not just their mental well-being. I believe this broader perspective deepens our understanding of their experiences. While I have had the privilege of working with a diverse number of clients, including individuals, couples, and families of various ages and backgrounds, I am most passionate about helping couples struggling with high conflict situations, working on improving their communication, and going through life changes. I explore the couple’s pattern and style of communication to help them build on communication skills, emotion regulation, and stress management. I enjoy helping couples better understand one another and work together as a team to tackle their problems. My goal is to create a supportive and understanding environment within these couples and families, so they can break free from their harmful cycles and patterns. Together, we can figure out what it is you most want to achieve in your relationships and how to work towards that.

As we work towards your goals, I want to ensure that you feel heard and understood with my empathetic and nonjudgmental presence. I take a collaborative, strengths-based, systemic, solution-focused, and emotion-focused approach and would love to learn all about your story to get to know you better and aid your healing. I believe in the power of relationships to transform our lives, and I hope to provide a supportive relationship.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, dancing, ice skating, and spending quality time with friends and family. I love trying new things, including searching for good food and traveling, whether it’s just exploring the DMV or going all across the world.
