It is natural and okay to spend time grieving. However, it is important you do eventually get yourself out of the muck and start healing. Talking and being around people can provide you with a fulfilling sense of connection to others. Even when you do not feel like it, make plans to see family and friends who support and love you. They can offer reassurance, maybe help you see things a little differently or even get you to have a good time. It is likely those closest to you have already revved up to help you when in need.


Practice Healthy Habits

Treat yourself to good food, get outside, exercise, spend time participating in hobbies and refrain from excessive drug or alcohol use. By treating your body well, it can help keep your mentality strong. If you are having trouble with using too much self-medicating drugs, talk to your therapist. These can help you feel numb in the moment, but the underlying pain and issues are simply being covered over with a bandaid temporarily.
