As a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe the family is a core component of the basic social unit of society. It takes great strength to ask for help and every day is a privilege to experience how change happens in therapy. Nothing makes me happier than witnessing the transformation between family members as they gain insight and acquire meaning of connection within their relationships. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead’s statement ignited my clinical training and passion for promoting others to live a more empowered and authentic life.
Clinical Expertise
As an individual and family therapist, I am comfortable assisting clients through some of the most serious crises including drug addiction, self-injury, emotionally and physically abusive relationships, grief/loss, separation and divorce. I also work with clients to address issues involving difficult life transitions, behavioral concerns, and academic performance particularly working with children and adolescents. As a couple therapist, I work with intention to encourage couples to explore their styles and patterns of communication as well as their roles and expectations–whether you are dating, engaged, married, or contemplating the status of your current relationship. I strive to connect with every member involved in the therapeutic process in order for everyone to be acknowledged, heard, and understood. It is my hope that regardless of my clients’ interest and reasoning for pursuing therapy, they achieve personal and relational growth, and see and understand both themselves and others more clearly.
About Me
I consider myself an easy-going, interactive, and accepting therapist who provides a collaborative approach. I explore all concerns, meeting you where you are, and offer a safe and peaceful space to assist families of all sorts and sizes. I am an ally who supports and advocates for equal civil rights, gender equality, and LGBTQ social movements.
I was born and raised in California, where I also hold a current and active license for Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a running and fitness enthusiast, and enjoy camping, traveling, and exploring all that Mother Nature has to offer. I love to experience new cultures, indulge and try new vegetarian and vegan recipes, surround myself with furry friends, and tend to my small collection of potted plants.
